Come enjoy the monthly Nashville MB series as the cozy taproom at Kilter Brewing Co. transforms into a Nashville-style Writers Round. Each month features intimate performances by four of Manitoba’s finest songwriters who will share their songs in turn. One performs a song, followed by the next writer, and the next, and so on. Each songwriter might join in with the others, add harmonies, contribute a guitar riff, or just listen. Writers talk about how and why they wrote the songs, and there are always lively stories and interaction between the writers.
Join us on the first Thursday of the month for another Writer’s Round featuring a new lineup of songwriters. Join our host Tyler Del Pino with indie folk songwriter Karina Joy, hyper-pop producer Boniface, and jazz-soul vocalist Maria Aragon for another night of endearing stories, hearty laughs, and killer tunes.
Advance tickets will be available soon, $12+ Fees.
Tickets available Thursday, March 19 at 9:00AM!
All ages welcome! Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Rush seating only.
This season was funded by the Manitoba Arts Council.
In partnership with Cluster Festival.
Many didn’t expect a modest Manitoban to one day become a shapeshifting sonic astronaut - yet despite any doubts, Tyler Del Pino has landed. He emerged Out of a Clear Blue Sky with an increasingly Trews-esque, rock-leaning set, flickering with country and Americana, flanked by propulsive horns, and a rebellious spirit taking notes from Sam Fender and Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band.
For the first time as a full band this year, Tyler Del Pino and the Brasstronautz ventured to Western Canada, taking their stellar dispatches and exciting live show on the road. Del Pino was nominated for the 2022 Music Production Award (London, UK) and Album of the Year (In The End) and Male Artist of the Year from the 2021 MCMA Awards.
Karina Joy is a non-binary, indie dream-folk songwriter who is inspired by artists like Birdtalker, City and Colour, Fleetwood Mac, and Gigi Perez - to name a few, and tells vulnerable stories of their life lessons and learnings. Joy has been songwriting since they were just 4 years old, now as an adult, they continue to wear their heart on their guitar and share some of their deepest heartaches and revelations in life through their music. They have been described as “a beacon of self-healing” with a “voice that’s timeless” and are committed to their vulnerability, always hoping to reach the people who need those words most.
Maria Aragon is a Filipino-Canadian singer-songwriter hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Maria's songs capture her most heartfelt stories, delivered by a voice that is gentle and disarmingly warm, but wielded with precision and a force that could fill a cathedral.
Following a co-sign from Lady Gaga at age 10, Maria spent her teenage years honing her craft as a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and writer. She eventually moved her home base to Toronto in 2018, establishing new artistic roots within the city's diverse music community while studying jazz at Humber College. Her final project in the Bachelor of Music program became her 2024 debut release, ‘Room: The Live EP’ – a look into Maria's intimate and stripped-back approach to R&B and soul, influenced by artists Stevie Wonder, H.E.R., Charlotte Day Wilson, and Dijon.
Maria is slated to release her next project in 2026, which is inspired by her time living in Toronto.
Boniface was on top of the world when the world stopped. As one of the most exciting up-and-coming indie pop bands, they had earned critical acclaim and an ever-growing following through their electrifying live show and grand, heartfelt singles. The band became a go-to opener for a number of the biggest UK indie acts of the 2010s, regularly performing to thousands. Their hard work was set to culminate in 2020, with the release of a debut album and an accompanying world tour. The album was released, but the pandemic-era tour was cancelled.
Now, Michele is facing her fears and preparing her return to the wider world with a new EP that blends the worlds of their beloved self-titled LP and the hyperpop demos of their soft-launch return into something uniquely their own. Produced and engineered by Michele ii, with additional engineering from Mark Rankin (Adele, Harry Styles) and John Paul Peters (Begonia, The Bros. Landreth).
